Stolen van used in Newtownards robberies
Police in County Down are investigating the theft of a van at the weekend, which is later believed to have been used in a number of other burglaries.
The white Iveco panel van, with the company logo in purple on both sides, is believed to have been stolen from the Salad Fayre premises in the Jubilee Road area of Newtownards some time between 5.30pm on Friday February 9 and 10am on the morning of Saturday February 10.
The van is later believed to have been used in two burglaries sometime later – the first at a farm in the Ballyrainey Road and the second at a car parts business on the Crawfordsburn Road in Newtownards.
A number of identifiable items stolen during the robberies, including pressure washing equipment, industrial vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, computer equipment and printers.
Detectives investigating the robberies have appealed to anyone who noticed the van on Friday evening after 5.30pm or who may have any information in connection with any of the incidents, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
