Two bodies found in Belfast

Detectives have launched two seperate murder investigations following the discovery of two bodies in Belfast.

A body was found at the O’Donovan Rossa GAA club on the Falls Road, and the area from the Falls Road to the Bog Meadows nature reserve has been closed while forensic officers investigate the area.

A man was also admitted to the Royal Victoria Hospital suffering a gunshot wound to the upper body at 3.00am on Monday. It is believed he is helping police with their enquiries in relation to the incident in west Belfast.

Detectives have asked the driver of a silver coloured saloon car who left the man at the hospital to contact them.

Meanwhile, a second body has been found in Elmfield Street in the Ardoyne estate at around 8am this morning.

Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams said his thoughts were with the families of the bereaved.

"While the circumstances surrounding the two deaths is not yet clear, if they were killed, then anyone with any information should bring that information to the police and should co-operate to bring the perpetrators to justice."

The area has been closed for further investigations.
