Woman attacked during robbery in west Belfast

Detectives are appealing for information after an elderly woman was robbed in west Belfast at around 5.20pm yesterday evening.

The woman had been walking along the Glen Road when a red coloured Toyota pulled up and two males got out. They assaulted the woman and stole her handbag before taking off in the car. She suffered injuries to her right arm and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A small sum of cash and some personal items were in her bag.

After the two men got back in the vehicle, which was driven by a third male, they made off in the direction of Glenhill Park.

One male was described as being in his early 20s, of small build and was wearing dark clothing. The second male was also described as also being in his 20s, of heavy build and with light brown short hair. The driver was said to be around 30 years of age, and had swarthy skin.
