Family found dead at Wexford home

Post mortem examinations are due to be carried out following the discovery of the bodies of a man, his wife and their two young daughters in their County Wexford home.

It has also emerged the man had discussed funeral plans with an undertaker.

The couple named as Adrian and Ciara Dunne, both aged in their 20s, and their children Leanne, 5 and Shania, 3 were all found at their home in the Moine Rua housing estate on Monday. Mrs Dunne was originally from Burt in County Donegal.

The house in Monageer village, near Enniscorthy, Wexford will remain cordoned off as Gardai investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

It is not yet known how the family died.

Gardai said they became concerned for the family last Friday and asked a local priest to visit them.

The next day, officers also contacted the Health Service Executive (HSE).

On Monday, Gardai broke into the house and found the bodies of the two girls and Mrs Dunne in the sitting room.

The body of Mr Dunne, who was registered blind, was found in the hallway.

Stunned relatives and friends of the family comforted each other as the bodies were removed from the house yesterday evening, while floral wreaths were laid at the scene.

The funeral arrangements for the family are currently being put in place.
