Woman’s Belfast home and business attacked
The UDA are being blamed for orchestrating an attack on two different premises of a woman in north Belfast.
Police were first alerted at lunchtime on Friday following reports that a number of shots had been fired through the front door of a woman’s house on Brae Hill Crescent.
Later, a hair salon on the Upper Crumlin Road, which is owned by the same woman, was set alight. Police are treating the fire, which occurred at around 1.15pm, as arson.
Police said no one was injured in either incident.
According to reports the gun attack and arson were conducted as part of the spiralling loyalist feud within the UDA’s leadership and its ‘C’ company, which was expelled recently.
Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward and are particularly keen to receive information on the movements of a small blue car which was seen in the moments leading up to the shooting incident.
