University of Ulster wins marketing award
The University of Ulster has been hailed as Northern Ireland’s marketing champion.
The accolade of Ulster Marketing Champion 2007 was awarded at the Marketing Institute of Ireland’s All-Island Marketing awards at a glittering ceremony in Dublin’s Burlington Hotel.
Adjudicators praised the University for the way it brought talented people together to create a programme clearly rooted in market needs. They were impressed by the way in which the University’s School of International Business at the Magee campus in Derry has developed an exciting and innovative new curriculum in advertising.
The team members, who comprise top marketing education talent, tapped into their own extensive resources and consulted with the broader community of stakeholders to design a programme that responds to market needs.
Marian Norwood, marketing team leader and course director for the new undergraduate advertising programme, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be named ‘Ulster Marketing Champion 2007’. This award recognises exceptional marketing success and contribution and it is wonderful that our collective efforts as a marketing team have been recognised.
“We see this award as further endorsement of our new BSc Advertising which commences in September”.
The awards, run by The Marketing Institute in association with the Irish Independent, recognises the contribution of Irish marketing and sales professionals to their companies and organisations.
