Dead animals left at Armagh forest
Animal carcasses are being dumped at a beauty spot in Armagh, leading local councillors to issue concerns that the practice will pose a health hazard.
The bodies of the cows and sheep were dumped illegally in a forest at the Ballintemple scenic point on the Slieve Gullion area of south Armagh.
It is feared the dead animals may pose health risks by contaminating nearby streams and farms with disease.
Local councillors and residents of the area are also concerned about other illegal dumps in the area, where building materials are being abandoned.
They are asking the Newry and Mourne Environmental Health Officers and Environmental Heritage staff to ensure all the remains are removed.

SF Calls For Action On NI Mental Health Services
Sinn Féin has called for more to be done to improve mental health services across the north of Ireland. The party's mental health spokesperson, MLA Órlaithí Flynn, made the call after the release of the Registrar General's 2023 Annual Report which has highlighted an increase in deaths by suicide in 2023.
