Rural building case at Belfast’s High Court
A judicial review into the legislation limiting the building in the countryside has began at the High Court in Belfast.
Omagh District Council have brought the challenge over the controversial PPS 14, and is being supported by Armagh, Coleraine, Cookstown, Moyle and Strabane councils.
Last year the government announced that almost all new plans for single rural dwellings would not be considered.
Environmentalists have welcomed the restrictions, saying the PPS 14 law would prevent a 'bungalow blitz'.
