Two Questioned Over Death Of Baby Released On Bail

A man and a woman arrested as part of the investigation into the death of an eight-month-old baby girl in a fire at a house in Enniskillen on Saturday have been released on bail.

The man and woman were arrested on Monday under the Children and Young Persons Act.

The baby girl, named as Chelsea Agnew, perished in the house in Drumbawn, Enniskillen, while two adults and another child escaped from the fire.

The blaze began at about 10.00am on Saturday and a neighbour raised the alarm. Firefighters found the dead baby in an upstairs bedroom.

Police in Enniskillen are investigating the cause of the fire.

A child has been killed in a road traffic accident in Enniskillen. The baby girl, from the Republic of Ireland, was in a car with her two brothers, her childminder and her childminder's daughter, when it collided with a fire engine. The incident happened at around 11.20 am on the Derrylin Road in the town.
