NI Dairy Company Expand In The Republic
Northern Ireland dairy business Dale Farm is expanding in the Irish Republic.
The company have taken over Superchill Ltd, which is an ice cream distribution business with bases in Galway and Letterkenny.
Superchill Ltd was a subsidiary of Breeo Foods and is currently a distributor of Dale Farm, Cadbury, Nestle and Haagan Daz’s ice cream products across Northern Ireland.
Dr David Dobbin, Chief Executive of Dale Farm, said that the company’s main focus in recent years had been in growing its product sales in Great Britain and the Irish Republic.
It is known that Superchill Ltd have an annual turnover from ice cream sales of well over one million euro but the price of Dale Farm’s purchase has not yet been disclosed.
The acquired business will now trade as Dale Farm Ice Cream and the company have said that current workforce will be retained.

The Stormont Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has announced two investments, totalling £39million, aimed at benefiting local dairy processing industry. The projects were announced as the Minister visited Dale Farm's facility at Dunmanbridge near Cookstown, where she officially opened a £5million state of the art cheddar cheese making facility.

Ice Cream Van Stolen In Belfast
Two men have been arrested following the theft of an ice cream van in west Belfast. The crime spree on Tuesday night, 18 February also involved an assault on a member of the public and a collision with a parked vehicle. The suspects, aged 23 and 28, remain in custody.
