30 Jobs To Go At Ballyfermot Plant
30 jobs are to be lost at the Killeen Corrugated Products plant in Ballyfermot in Dublin.
The plants management team told workers that the plant would close at the end of the year due to a fall in business from its major customers.
The business is owned by paper and packaging Smurfit Kappa and the 25 remaining workers at the plant are set to be redeployed.
SIPTU, which represents employees at the plant, said that the announcement came as a shock to workers as they had agreed improved efficiencies following the loss of jobs earlier this year.
The union said that they would be looking for improved redundancy packages.
