Police Seek Cooperation During Ormeau Park Event
The PSNI have warned motorists to expect traffic delays ahead of the two-day Tennents Vital concert at Ormeau Park in Belfast this week.
Police in South and East Belfast are working hard with the local community and the organisers of Tennents Vital '07 to ensure that the event on Tuesday and Wednesday passes without major traffic disruption and have asked anyone not intending to travel to the concert to avoid the area.
There will be no parking at the venue and no parking will be permitted on the Ormeau Embankment - police and parking attendants will enforce these restrictions.
Motorists are urged to adhere to traffic signing and coning. It is likely that the Ormeau Embankment will be closed for a period of time between the Ravenhill Road and Ormeau Road junctions.
Those attending the concert are reminded that there will be no access to the venue except via the approved entrances on Ormeau Embankment.
Superintendent Brian Maguire, PSNI Operations Manager for the area said: "We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time. All we ask is that people act responsibly respect the law and get home safely."

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.

Over 800 young people from schools in Lisburn and Castlereagh attended a hard-hitting road safety message at the PSNI Road Safe Roadshow on 19 November. The roadshow, supported by AXA Insurance and the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership, aims to educate young drivers about the dangers of irresponsible driving.
