Almost 80 Jobs To Be Lost At Belfast Firm
Up to 76 jobs are to be lost at east Belfast firm Scott ElectroMech following a down turn in business.
Scott ElectroMech, formally known as Hugh J Scotts, are an electrical engineering company based on the Ravenhill Road and following a down turn in business they went into administration.
Attempts to sell the company as a going concern failed and PUP assembly member Dawn Purvis said that the decision to close the firm is devastating.
The assembly member also said that she hopes that the workers are properly compensated and that support is put in place to help them find alternative employment.

Economy Minister Conor Murphy has launched the Business Innovation Grant (BIG), a new £4.3 million initiative designed to stimulate innovation and enhance productivity among Northern Irish businesses. The scheme, developed by Invest Northern Ireland and delivered in partnership with Innovate NI, is open to micro-businesses, sole traders, and SMEs.

Kells textile firm rolls out £1.2m investment
A Co Antrim firm has announced plans to invest £2.1 million in improving its export market business. Kells firm Francis Dinsmore Limited (FDL) said it would be investing the money "in innovative value-added fabrics and a new finishing process for export markets" with assistance from Invest NI.

Belfast's InShops To Close
InShops in Belfast's city centre are set to close it has been revealed this afternoon. The 25 shops which employ around 60 people have until June 26 to evacuate the premises. According to the centre's manager the news was broke on Thursday last and came as a shock.
