Dog Owner Receives Fine For Attack On Child
A dog owner has been fined £300 after his dog attacked a three-year-old child outside her home.
The girl required hospital treatment for her injuries when the Boxer-type dog jumped on the child scratching her on the chest.
Andrew Sailes, of Abbey Park, Belfast, admitted to keeping the dog, which attacked and injured the girl but the owner then voluntarily destroyed the seven-year-old dog.
A lawyer for Belfast City Council said the girl’s mother reported the attack and a defence lawyer said the animal had never been in any trouble before and this was not a biting case.
