Ryanair Establish New Base In Belfast
Ryanair is to establish a new base in Belfast with four daily services from Belfast City Airport to London Stansted from 30 October.
Europe's biggest low-cost airline said it was putting a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft into service at George Best Belfast City Airport, pending the extension to the runway.
Chief Executive Michael O'Leary said: "In the coming year, 600,000 passengers will fly Ryanair to and from Belfast. These visitor will generate a tourism spend of over 100 million punds which will sustain 600 jobs."
Brian Ambrose, Chief Executive of George Best Belfast City Airport said: "I'm delighted to welcome this Ryanair base aircraft to Belfast City Airport and to announce that Ryanair will be offering flights to Stansted. This additional commitment to Belfast City Airport means we will offering more choice to passengers travelling to London. Additionally, we welcome Ryanair's intention to expand the European route portfolio from this base."
This is Ryanair 's 23rd European base and the airline will fly to Glasgow, East Midlands, Liverpool and London's Stansted airports from Belfast.

City Airport Extension Inquiry Sought
The Green Party are pushing for MLAs at Stormont to vote in favour of a public inquiry into controversial proposals to extend the runway at the George Best Belfast City Airport. The politicians are to debate the issue on Tuesday when the debate reaches the Assembly floor in a move sponsored by the Green Party.
