Man Injured In Shooting Remains Stable
A man is in a stable condition in hospital after a suspected punishment shooting in Londonderry's Galliagh area.
The victim was shot in Bloomfield Park shortly after 3pm yesterday.
The gun attack happened as pupils were leaving St Brigid's High School just across the road. The 27-year-old man was shot in both knees.
SDLP Assembly Member Mary Bradley said: "This is the type of thing that residents hoped had gone away long ago and they don't want it back again. It happened when children were coming in from school at 3pm. There were also younger children from other schools."
Police are currently investigating the attack and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
