Pensioner Robbed In Own Home

Police in Lisburn are investigating the robbery of an elderly woman in her own home last night.

The incident happened at around 10pm in the Wesley Street area of the city.

The 89-year-old pensioner was in her living room watching television when four men burst into the room.

It is understood one of the men held the woman in her chair while the other intruders searched the house.

A PSNI spokesperson said a small amount of cash was taken.

The victim was left shocked but uninjured.

Pensioner attacked during burglary of her home
A 90-year-old woman was assaulted during a burglary of her home in Ballygowan, Co Down last night. The woman was confronted by a teenager after hearing noise in her kitchen. The youth then assaulted the elderly woman before escaping into an alley at the back of the house. Police believe an accomplice then joined the assailant.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.

Pensioner Robbed In Lisburn
A pensioner has been left shaken after she was pulled from her vehicle in Lisburn. The woman, aged in her 80s, was parking her car in the driveway on the Hillsborough Old Road area at around 5.15pm on Saturday, 07 October, when a man approached her and pulled her from the vehicle. He stole a holdall which contained cash and jewellery and made off.
