Limavady 'Arson' Attacks Injure Two

Police are probing a possible link between two separate fires in rural Limavady at the weekend.

One of the suspected arson attacks left a local man suffered burns to his back and legs after his shed caught fire and he tried to save his motorcycle from the flames.

However the blaze developed quickly, spreading to two houses causing substantial damage and leaving the victim needing hospital treatment.

The separate suspected arson attack again starting in a shed before spreading to a garage and the roof of a house.

In that instance, a 76-year-old woman was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

A police spokesman said: "We are investigating the possibility that both incidents may be linked and are treating them as suspicious."

Fire injures five in Ballymurphy house blaze
A suspected arson attack on a house in west Belfast has injured five people. Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at the house in Whitecliff Parade in the Ballymurphy area at around 1.30am. Four women were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation while a fifth person suffered leg injuries after jumping from a first floor window.

Appeal Following Arson Attack In L'Derry
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a serious arson attack in the Clon Dara area of L'Derry on Saturday, 23 November. Shortly before 8.20pm, police received a report that an accelerant had been used to ignite the front door and letterbox of a house in the area.

Arson Attack On 5G Mast In West Belfast
Detectives in Belfast are investigating a suspected arson attack on a 5G mast in the Andersonstown Road area. The incident occurred around 9.55pm on Wednesday, November 13th. Detective Sergeant Faulkner confirmed that officers attended the scene alongside the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, who successfully extinguished the blaze.

Police Appeal After Arson Attack In Newtownards
Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.
