Sky's The Limit As Belfast Flight Destinations Take-Off

Local people lucky enough to have holiday property in destinations such as Spain’s Costa del Sol are in for a treat next year.

Air passengers are set to benefit from an unprecedented airline price war brought about by the explosion in international routes from Northern Ireland.

Now that Aer Lingus has settled its Belfast-related industrial problems, it will be going head-to-head with both Easyjet and Jet2 on the popular Malaga route as well as to Barcelona.

Ryanair is also about to start operating from Belfast airports – so that choice and value for the local air traveller has never been better.

"Passengers here have never had it so good in terms of the range of destinations available," said Eddie Lynch, head of consumer affairs at The Consumer Council.

"Three years ago we had one route to continental Europe, now there are more than 30 - and more to come.

"And Ulster folk can now fly direct to North America, which saves passengers having to travel to Dublin or airports in Great Britain."
