Three in court over extortion charges
Three men have appeared in court today charged with extortion and theft.
The three – Raymond Crooks (43) and Samuel Davidson (44), from Mervue Street in Belfast, and Gordon Davidson (29), of Greenmount Place in Belfast – where in Belfast Magistrates Court this morning to face charges relating to extortion at a north Belfast building site. It is alleged that the men demanded a £20,000 sum with menaces and that the money was intended for use by paramilitaries.
They are also charged with stealing £5,000 from the police.
The court was told that Raymond Crooks and Samuel Davidson denied the charges and Gordon Davidson made no reply when they were put to them.
The men were remanded in custody until November 29.

A 40-year-old man has appeared before Belfast Magistrates Court today, charged in connection with a number of sexual offences. The man faces on charge of rape, two charges of sexual assault and one charge of sexual activity with a child.

Willie Frazer Arrested For Bail Breach
Prominent loyalist campaigner Willie Frazer has been arrested for breaching his bail conditions. The 52-year-old was arrested on Monday at about 19:30 in the Portadown area. He is expected to appear in court today. Bail conditions were imposed following charges linked to union flag protests earlier in the year.
