Glens Take Honours

East Belfast soccer team, Glentoran has won the County Antrim Shield after defeating Crusaders 2-1 in the final at Windsor Park.

David Scullion put the Glens in front on 64 minutes when he fired the ball home after Michael Halliday had headed the ball down following a Gary Hamilton cross.

Six minutes later, Ryan Berry made it 2-0 for the east Belfast side when he struck a 25-yard effort past Crusaders' goalkeeper Aaron Hogg.

Chris Morrow pulled back a late goal for Crusaders in injury time with a header from a cross by Stephen McBride.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.
