Bus driver pistol-whipped during robbery
A bus driver has spent the night in hospital after being pistol-whipped by two masked youths during a robbery in north Belfast yesterday.
At around 3.30pm, two youths boarded the bus as it let passengers off on the Old Park Road. The pair demanded cash and, after the driver handed over a sum of money, one of assailants struck him on the head with a handgun.
They then made off towards the Ballysillan estate.
One of the youths is described as 5ft 10ins tall, and was wearing a hooded top and had a red, white and blue scarf around his face.
The other attacker was 5ft 5ins tall and was wearing a white hooded top and dark woollen hat.
Police at Antrim Road have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Derry Bus Tragedy Averted

Translink is urging women to find out more about a career as a bus driver. The firm is encouraging females to take part in 'Have A Go Days' to increase the numbers of women applying. Translink is currently recruiting for Metro, Glider and Ulsterbus drivers.

Translink Bus Strike 'Back On' From 17-23 May
The bus strike "is back on", the GMB Union has announced after their members rejected a revised pay offer. The union has said that drivers, cleaners and shunters across the company will walk out for seven days from 17 to 23 May 2022, "causing the entire bus network to grind to a halt".

Van Driver Threatened By Thugs In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after two men, one armed with a knife, threatened the driver of a cash-in-transit van in north Belfast. The incident occurred at around noon on Monday on the Antrim Road. The thugs demanded the driver to hand over money, however he refused and locked himself in nearby commercial premises.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.
