'Boys' Change Parade Date
A previously contentious loyal order parade - around the walls of Derry - has been brought forward to minimise disruption to festive shopping in and around Londonderry.
The Apprentice Boys of Derry organisation has again taken this step as a move to accommodate the local business community in the run-up to Christmas.
The annual Lundy parade will now be held this weekend, 1 December, instead of during the scheduled date of 18 December, right in the middle of the normally hectic pre-Christmas shopping frenzy.
The move follows further talks which have involved Derry's Chamber of Commerce as well as residents from the nationalist Bogside, which adjoins the city centre.
There had been pressure to move the parade to an earlier date in previous years as shopkeepers were unhappy about disruptions during the busy period.
"We welcome the move of the parade, which commemorates cultural events, while allowing everyone to enjoy the Christmas festivities", said Garbhan O'Doherty of Derry's Chamber of Commerce.
The parade is part of events marking the shutting of the city's gates by supporters of William of Orange against the forces of the Catholic King James II in 1688.

Woman Charged With Firearm Possession
A woman has been charged with possession of a firearm following a police search in west Belfast. PSNI discovered a suspected firearm at a house in Norglen Parade early on Saturday morning. The 27-year-old is due to appear in court at a later date. A 31-year-old male and a 23-year-old female also arrested have been released pending reports.
