Road Toll Hits Seven As Elderly Pedestrian Dies

A 75-year-old man has died following a road traffic collision near Crumlin, County Antrim.

Bringing Northern Ireland's road toll to seven since Friday, the elderly man has died after being struck by a car while walking along the Diamond Road near Crumlin on Monday evening.

Police in Antrim have appealed to anyone who was on the Diamond Road at the time to contact them at 0845 6008000.

A police spokesman said the road was closed overnight as well as on Tuesday morning.

Two people die in separate road accidents
Two people have died following separate road accidents in Counties Down and Fermanagh on Tuesday. In the first accident a man died following a crash between two cars on the main Belfast to Holywood road shortly after 5.30pm. He died in hospital a short time later.

Man Dies In Tyrone Farm Accident
The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has launched an investigation after a man died in a farm accident in Co Tyrone. Emergency services were called to the farm in the Coolaghy Road area of Ardstraw on Sunday, 02 September. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem is to be carried out.
