Two Firemen Injured Saving Farm Blaze Animals
Hundreds of farm animals have been saved from a fire at farm buildings in Co Tyrone.
Two members of the fire crews have been hurt as the animals were rescued from the burning buildings near Pomeroy.
Fire crews using nine appliances battled to contain the blaze and were still at the scene trying to contain the blaze by mid morning on Wednesday having been called to the farm after a member of the public raised the alarm just before 4am.
While most were rescued, some of the livestock were injured.
The cause of the fire is not yet know but the two fire fighters who have been reported as injured while tackling the blaze are believed to have been hurt by a steel beam that fell on them.
One of them has been taken to hospital with back injuries.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has introduced a new online tool to help residents assess their home fire safety. The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.

Fire crews deal with separate fires in Co Antrim
Police are appealing for information following two suspicious fires in Co Antrim in the early hours of Friday morning. The first fire was discovered at a factory unit in north Belfast at around 12 midnight. It is believed the blaze started when paper inside the unit was set alight. Some windows and two other units were damaged in the fire.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Minister Condemns Attacks On Fire Crews
Attacks on fire crews place their lives in danger and put communities at risk, said Public Safety Minister Michael McGimpsey today. Condemning a further spate of attacks on firefighters in Dungannon and Londonderry over the weekend, the Minister said it was absolutely unacceptable for anyone to assault emergency workers.
