Holywood Road SPAR recognised as 'best company owned site'
The SPAR & Jet Filling Station on the Holywood Road has picked up the top accolade of 'Best Company Owned/Managed Site in Northern Ireland' at the Forecourt Trader of the Year Awards 2002.
Launched in 1996 to reward excellence in the petrol retailing sector, The Forecourt Trader of the Year Awards recognise and promote high standards of professionalism in an increasingly competitive sector of the retail trade.
Mark McCammond, Operations Director, Andrew Millar & Company, which is the retail company of the John Henderson Group, said: “Everyone at SPAR Holywood Road is thrilled to have picked up this terrific award at the Forecourt Trader of the Year Awards 2002. To have been named as the Best Company Owned/Managed Site in Northern Ireland is a great honour for everyone at the Holywood Road SPAR & Jet Filling Station. In particular, this recognises the dedication of the store manager, Ronnie Eynon and all staff at the SPAR Holywood Road, so congratulations and well done to all concerned.”
The Holywood Road SPAR underwent a major refurbishment and extension at the end of 2001 and re-opened just in time for Christmas last year.
The new SPAR store is almost five times the size of the original shop and offers customer an extended range of products - including fresh produce, 'Food To Go', bakery products, frozen foods, newspapers and magazines and a wide range of grocery products. The Jet forecourt site has fuels, air, water and vacuum facilities, and a drive-thru car wash, and includes an ATM Cash Point.
A spokesperson for John Henderson Group said that by picking up top honours at these awards, the SPAR on the Holywood Road had proven to the award judges, that it was "consistently offering customers a first-class convenience shopping and forecourt service, all served by friendly and helpful staff, whose main concern is to provide a true quality service to all".
