Paisley Senior Pushed By Party
Ian Paisley is facing a new bout of pressure to step down as the leader of the DUP from his own party.
There is growing speculation senior members of his party are considering plans to see the now 82 year-old politician to conclude his leadership amid further controversy surrounding Ian Paisley Jnr.
Mr Paisley Jnr has sparked further criticism after being appointed to the Policing board just weeks after resigning as Junior Minister in Stormont. Mr Paisley's son stepped down following mounting pressure over his dealings with local businessman Seymour Sweeney and the Giants Causeway Development, as well as a host of inquiries into a number of other property deals.
The minister also attracted a wave of criticism over the three salaries he was receiving from the public purse for three separate roles.
Jeffrey Donaldson took up the vacated Junior Minister post and it was revealed that Ian Paisley Junior is to replace Mr Donaldson and return to sit on the Policing Board.
The move is reported to have created a great deal of discontent within the party and senior members are said to be pushing Ian Paisley to outline his plans for the future.

DAERA Minister Confirms Commitment to Deposit Return Scheme
DAERA Minister Andrew Muir has reaffirmed his commitment to introducing a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) in Northern Ireland. The DRS is designed to encourage recycling by offering a monetary incentive for returning single-use drinks containers. The scheme will cover PET plastic, steel, and aluminium containers ranging from 150ml to 3 litres.
