Chinese Business seminars launched
The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) Consumer Affairs Branch has launched an initiative to help the Chinese Business Community better understand and deal with the regulations and legal requirements faced by them.
The Consumer Affairs Branch, in partnership with the Chinese Welfare Association and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, is holding two business seminars, one at the offices of Castlereagh Borough Council later today, and the other at the Millennium Theatre in Londonderry on September 23.
The seminars, entitled - “Unburden Your Business – How The Regulators Can Help” - are designed to help Chinese businessmen and women to understand and comply with a wide range of business regulations.
David Livingstone from Consumer Affairs Branch said: “This initiative follows on from a series of successful seminars that took place last year, focusing on the willingness of the regulatory bodies to work in partnership with businesses to help them meet their legal obligations. As an important business sector with approximately 500 businesses in Northern Ireland, it is appropriate that we actively engage with the Chinese community to help develop a full understanding of all legal requirements.”
Sharing the platform with officials from the Branch will be representatives from the Inland Revenue, Building Control, Environmental Health, the Health and Safety departments of the two Councils, the Northern Ireland Planning Service and the Food Standards Agency.
Each agency will make a presentation, which will be delivered in both English and Cantonese, on how it can help businesses to comply with the laws impacting on them.
