Lithuanians Charged Over Fitzpatrick Death

Two Lithuanian men have been remanded in custody charged with the murder of shop manager Shaun Fitzpatrick in Dungannon on Easter Sunday.

The two accused are 21-year-old Andrius Dunauskas, of Lisnahall Road and Raminas Balseris of Altmore Drive, both in Dungannon.

A detective told the town's magistrates court he could connect the two foreign nationals to the charges.

Mr Fitzpatrick's body was found in an alleyway off the town's Donaghmore Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 32-year-old from the town was beaten to death as he returned home after a night out.

The two men will appear in court again via video-link on April 16.

The decesed's father Bill, accompanied by his sons, faced the grim task of formally identifying his body at a Belfast hospital on Monday.

Tom Elliott, Ulster Unionist MLA for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, said: "This is an immense tragedy for the family of Shaun Fitzpatrick and indeed the entire community."
