Robinson 'Talking Rubbish' On Recycling Visit
Top Northern Ireland politician Peter Robinson was talking a load of rubbish yesterday.
In his current role as the Executive member responsible for finance, the First Minister elect, Peter Robinson was on a visit to the Bryson Recycling in Mallusk.
He 'talked rubbish' with senior staff from the Bryson Charitable Group - which specialises in the collection and reuse of household waste - and also discussed the social economy.
"Bryson Charitable Group is an excellent example of how social economy enterprises in Northern Ireland contribute to our economy by providing a wide range of valuable services," said the Minister.
"Their recycling services and Energy Efficiency Advice Centres will help to ensure that economic growth and wealth creation are taken forward in a manner which is fair and sustainable.
"This contributes not only to meeting the needs of today but also those of future generations."
The Minister stressed the importance of growing this sector in tandem with the Government's focus on economic regeneration. He said: "Part of growing a dynamic, innovative economy in Northern Ireland involves developing the social economy.
"The Northern Ireland Executive recognises the important contribution that this type of local economic activity promotes in both social objectives and in sustainable community development."
The Minister met with the directors of Bryson Charitable Group and was given a tour of the facility by the Group Chairman, John Steele.
