North Belfast school targeted by arsonists
A school in north Belfast has been damaged in an arson attack on Sunday.
The fire, at Our Lady of Mercy School on the Crumlin Road, took hold in a classroom after a window was smashed.
The fire is the latest in a number of similar incidents at schools in the north of the city.
Only last week £10,000 worth of damage was done to Castle High School in Fortwilliam Park after around 200 windows were broken. This also followed an arson attack at Dominican College a short distance away earlier in the week.
In a separate incident on Sunday, a house was damaged after a number of petrol bombs were thrown into Glenbryn Park in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast.
The roof of the house was set on fire as a result of the attack. Police said the devices were thrown from the nationalist Alliance Avenue area.
