Head Injuries Fatal
One man has been arrested over the death of a man who was found with head injuries in Castle Archdale caravan park in County Fermanagh on Sunday. A passer-by found James Patrick McGauran, (41) from Kestrel Grange in Dunmurry, in a critical condition in the caravan park and he was taken to the Erne Hospital, but has now died. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
TA Medics Set To Deploy
More than 60 doctors, nurses and ambulance drivers from Northern Ireland are to provide frontline medical treatment in Afghanistan this summer. The Territorial Army reservists - of 204 Squadron (North Irish) Field Hospital - now based in south Belfast, and formerly located at Antrim Road's Firmount - will work at Camp Bastion in Helmand province. As well as Nato soldiers, they will treat Afghan National Army, Taliban and civilian casualties. Their three-month tour of duty will begin in mid-July.
Sex Attack Shock
There has been yet another serious assault with news a 20-year-old woman has been attacked in Rostrevor. The victim was targeted close to her home in the Carrickbawn Park area on Sunday night. Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area between 8pm and 10pm to contact them and have also said that her attacker was a teenage youth and was wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a grey-black top.
Nairac Suspect Held
Police investigating the 1977 murder of SAS Captain Robert Nairac have arrested a man in south Armagh. The undercover soldier was abducted in Jonesborough in May 1977, taken across the border, tortured and shot. His body has never been found. Now, a 57-year-old suspect has been taken to Antrim Serious Crime suite for questioning. Six people were convicted for their part in the killing of the army officer. Five of those convicted were from Northern Ireland and one from the Republic. But police believe three other members of the IRA gang were involved.
Parades Appointment
Businesswoman Rena Shepherd has been appointed as a new member of the Parades Commission. The Government launched a search for a new commissioner earlier this year after the House of Lords ruled that the appointment of two Portadown Orangemen by former NI Secretary Peter Hain was unlawful.
Money Talks
Some of the world's leading economic policymakers are in Belfast for a 'State of the City' conference. Members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development will make recommendations for long-term economic prosperity in the city. The conference at the Waterfront Hall will also reveal findings from a year-long review of Belfast's economic development activities. It is the fifth in a series organised by Belfast City Council.

Over £170,000 Of Cannabis Found In North Belfast
Police have found over £170,000 worth of cannabis at a property in North Belfast. It was discovered during a search on Clifton Park Avenue on Wednesday. No arrests were made and the property was vacant. Officers are continuing their investigations.
