Translink scoops IiP award
A team of mechanical engineers, who are responsible for keeping the entire fleet of Translink’s buses and trains in service, has received the Investor in People Award.
The team comprising 595 engineering staff is the first section of the company to achieve IiP.
“We are very proud of this achievement,” Ted Hesketh, Managing Director said at the presentation of the award.
“The effort involved right across our network shows just how committed our staff are to service and excellence. We are now looking forward to seeing the IiP programme being rolled out over the other company divisions, ensuring that the highest possible standards are applied to every aspect of our operations.
Mr Hesketh said that the scale of Translink’s operations, along with its geographic spread across Northern Ireland required a high level of co-ordination and communication to meet the standards for IiP accreditation.
Mal McGreevy, Translink’s Mechanical Engineering Executive, said: “This truly is a case where each and every member of staff had to fully buy into the principles of IiP in order for us to achieve our goal.
“The effort, which was recognised by the external assessing panel, reflects very accurately our commitment to performance and quality, and the ongoing development of our skills and capabilities.”
