Hyundai offer first UK five-year warranty
From September 1, Hyundai Car (UK) will be offering the UK's first five-year, fully manufacturer-backed, unlimited mileage warranty as standard across its range.
The new warranty is available to private and fleet users, and applies to all models in the range including the Hyundai Amica, Accent, Matrix, Elantra, Coupe, Sonata, Trajet, Santa Fe and XG30.
Hyundai say that the launch of the revolutionary five-year warranty, a direct result of customer demand for a longer warranty period with real value, is a permanent move by the company and not just a limited time offer.
As has been the case with the existing warranty, the UK's first five-year warranty has been made as 'transparent' and easy to understand as possible.
As well as unlimited mileage (most manufacturers limit mileage to between 60,000 and 100,000 miles), the five-year warranty covers most mechanical and electrical components. While some 'perishable' items are not included, the exhaust system, timing belts and shock absorbers are covered for five-years' unlimited mileage.
New owners will not be expected to pay extra for the two additional years, and the price of the model range is unchanged.
The warranty is transferable to a new owner if the vehicle is sold within the five-year warranty period.
All models in the range will continue to be offered with three years RAC Assistance as standard.
Owners must, of course, ensure their cars are serviced and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.
