NI wins Gold Medal at Commonwealth Games
Northern Ireland has claimed its first medal of the 2002 Commonwealth Games after David Calvert and Martin Millar struck gold in the open full-bore rifle pairs.
The duo, who have now successfully defended the title which they won in Kuala Lumpur four years ago, won with a total of 590 points finishing ahead of second-placed South Africa (589) with England third (588).
Calvert, who won an individual title in 1994, has now equalled the great Mary Peters in winning three Commonwealth gold medals for Northern Ireland.
Meanwhile, in athletics County Antrim's James McIlroy is through to the final of the 800 metres in Manchester after coming through his semi-final heat in third place. McIlroy is the only British athlete through to the final, which takes place on Monday night.
Local runner Teresa McCluskey also finished a creditable fifth place in the women's marathon on Sunday with a time of 2:40:29. She finished just over 10 minutes behind winner Kerryn McCann from Australia.

Traffic Warning For South Belfast Ahead Of Northern Ireland Match
Road users are advised to plan for potential traffic delays in the south Belfast area on Friday, 15th November due to the UEFA Nations League football match between Northern Ireland and Belarus. The match will take place at Windsor Park, kicking off at 7.45pm, and it is expected that around 18,000 supporters will attend.

Marriage increase in Northern Ireland
Latest figures have revealed that there has been an increase in the number of marriages in Northern Ireland. The number for 2006 was just 8,300, a small increase on the 8,100 marriages registered in 2005, the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) said. This is a significant increase on the recent low of 7,300 registered in 2001.
