More Arrests Over Quinn Killing

Three more men have been arrested in connection with the murder of south Armagh man Paul Quinn.

The men from the Forkhill and Crossmaglen areas were arrested on Thursday morning.

A number of items have also been removed for examination in what police said this afternoon is the second phase of a "targeted operation" in south Armagh.

This brings to four the number of men being held by the PSNI.

Two men in their 50s arrested by the PSNI in south Armagh on Tuesday in connection with Mr Quinn's death have already been released, although another man in his 20s remains in custody.

Meanwhile, Irish police have been given a further 24 hours to question the three men they arrested earlier this week over the brutal gang assault that left south Armagh man Paul Quinn dead last year.

The men, aged 22, 24 and 36, were arrested in Co Monaghan this week to be questioned over the death of the 21-year-old, who was beaten to death at farm buildings near Castleblayney in County Monaghan last October.
