IRA memorial to be taken down
Republicans have said they are to take down a memorial was erected in County Fermanagh in memory of three dead IRA.
They said the decision followed representations from the families of two men murdered by the IRA close to where the republican memorial is sited in Belleek.
The memorial was put up five months ago but caused outrage among the relatives of two Protestant workmen who were murdered by republicans in Belleek in 1998.
William Hassard and Frederick Love had been carrying out work at Belleek RUC Station when they were shot at Slater's Crossroads near the village.
SDLP MLA for Fermanagh/South Tyrone, Tommy Gallagher, welcomed move. However the UUP's Sam Foster said the monument should never have been erected in the first place. He added: "If republicans are sincere about removing a monument erected in County Fermanagh in memory of three dead IRA men, I welcome the development.
"However, it is my firm opinion that memorials should not be erected all over the countryside but in cemeteries or burial grounds were the body of those people lie and with the permission of the respective authorities."
The marble and granite memorial at Belleek will be removed and relocated following several months of discussions with the families of the two workers who were shot dead by the IRA close by.

Commissioners visit IRA memorial in Belleek
Members of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission have inspected an IRA memorial today in County Fermanagh. They paid a visit to a stone memorial dedicated to IRA volunteers in Belleek and met with families of victims to discuss whether there are any human rights implications in the siting of the memorial.

The Executive Office (EO) have hosted a Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) Commemoration at Belfast City Hall, where almost 300 people gathered to to remember the millions of victims and survivors of the Holocaust and those impacted by the horrors of more recent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
