Tánaiste announces 400 new jobs in Galway
Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Mary Harney has announced the creation of 400 jobs by leading medical technology company, Medtronic at its Galway plant.
The investment, which will see the up to 400 jobs created over the next five years, will also help establish a new stand-alone R&D and manufacturing centre-of-excellence for its Cardiac Rhythm Management Division, which will have the ability to take projects from initial concept through to production.
The new facility will be located alongside the company's existing Vascular Division's operation at Parkmore Business Park West in Galway.
The Tánaiste said that recruitment for some of the new posts has already commenced and that construction and fitting out of new buildings to house the expansion was well underway.
