Arrest Follows Cross Border Dissident Operation
A man has been arrested following a joint PSNI and Gardaí operation, apparently as part of an investigation into a rocket attack on police officers last weekend.
Early on Wednesday morning, Garda in the Blacklion area of Cavan and the PSNI in the Belcoo area of Fermanagh carried out concurrent searches resulting in the Garda arresting the man - who is in his early 30s - under the Offences Against The State Act.
He is presently detained at Manorhamilton Garda Station.
It is thought the arrest was part of a PSNI investigation into an attack on their officers in Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh, last Saturday night.
It emerged earlier this week that Semtex was used in the weekend dissident republican attack.
This is the first time dissidents have used the commercial explosive previously used by the Provisional IRA.
The attack came just days after the PSNI Chief Constable, Sir Hugh Orde warned that dissident republican elements were 'hell-bent' on killing his officers.
It involved a failed grenade attack which targeting three police officers on foot patrol in Fermanagh.
The officers were treated for severe shock and minor injuries after the rocket-propelled grenade was launched at about 11pm on Saturday - although it failed to explode.
Shortly after the attack, a car was found burning at Chapel Brae. Police are investigating a possible link.

Chief Constable says police 'ready' for dissident threat
PSNI Chief Constable Hugh Orde has warned that there may be more "problems" in the next two days as police make final security preparations to guard the polling stations in Northern Ireland ahead of tomorrow's election. The Chief Constable's comments came after a bomb attack near an army base in Dungannon in Co Tyrone on Monday.

Ardoyne Bomb Attack Targets Police
A bomb attack in north Belfast on Tuesday evening has been described as "a blatant attempt to kill or seriously injure police officers". Two Men Arrested Over Attempted Murder Of PSNI Officers
Two men have been arrested in Dublin in connection with the attempted murder of a two PSNI officers. The suspects, aged 29 and 32, have been detained under a European Arrest Warrant. The arrests were in connection with a bomb discovered attached to a police officer's vehicle in L'Derry in June 2015.
