Eight Die On Irish Roads
The death of a man in an early morning road accident in Co Tyrone - which brought the number of people killed on Irish roads to seven in just a few days - wasn't the end of the grim toll.
After that crash happened - about two miles from the village of Castlecaulfield - with a single vehicle involved in the incident at about 4am on Monday, a woman died following a road crash on the M1 motorway in Co Meath.
She was the eight victim of the roads across Ireland in just two days.
The 36-year-old sustained serious injuries when her car hit a pole on the northbound lane of the motorway.
It happened just before 9am outside the City North Hotel at Gormanston.
She was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda where she later died.
Accidents on Irish Republic roads had already claimed six lives this past weekend, following the death of a motorcyclist in Tipperary.
The 31-year-old motorcyclist was killed in the crash, which happened in Powerstown, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, at 10.40pm and the man died at the scene. No other vehicle was involved.
On Saturday afternoon, two bikes collided at Clonaglin, Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath at a charity motorbike ride, the annual Across Ireland Motorcycle Run for the Make A Wish Foundation.
A 35-year-old Polish national died in the incident while the second motorcyclist was also injured, although not seriously.
Another motorcyclist was killed in Kildare flowing a collision with a jeep late on Saturday night.
He was pronounced dead at The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. The Driver of the jeep was uninjured.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist in his 20's was fatally injured when the bike he was riding struck a tractor on the Listowel to Abbeyfeale road.
A female passenger on the bike, also in her 20s was, taken to Kerry General Hospital, the driver of the tractor was not injured.
Elsewhere, a 23-year-old woman was killed when she lost control of the car she was driving and crashed at Kilmacomma, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, at around 3.45am on Sunday.
Another woman died on Saturday night after she was knocked down by a car at Summerhill, Tramore.

Local roads get record £80m spend
A record £80 million will be spent on structural roads maintenance this year across Northern Ireland. The figure was revealed by Deputy Divisional Roads Manager, Tom McCourt as he presented DRD Roads Service’s autumn report to Newtownabbey Borough Council. Mr McCourt said: "This is a huge increase in investment over previous years.

Motorist killed in collision near Banbridge
One person has been killed following a serious road traffic incident on the A1, two miles outside Banbridge. It is understood that a man, who has not yet been named, was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision between a lorry and a car at around 7.00am. The man later died in hospital.

21-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Co Armagh Collision
A 21-year-old man has died in a road traffic collision near Gilford, Co Armagh. The man is understood to have died after his motorcycle collided with a tractor on the Ballymacanallen Road at around 1.25pm on Wednesday. An investigation has been launched and police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
