Lisburn plastic company announces expansion
A one million pound investment by Lisburn-based Creative Composites to increase its productivity and workforce has been announced by the Economy Minister Sir Reg Empey.
The Minister announced the investment today during a visit to the facility, which manufactures glass reinforced plastic products, at Blaris Industrial Estate in Lisburn.
The venture, which involves an extension to the factory and upgrading of the company’s manufacturing systems, has seen to date the creation of 23 new jobs - some seven per cent ahead of their three-year target.
Sir Reg said: “Creative Composites is an important local supplier to major blue chip international companies located in Northern Ireland, Great Britain, Europe, Brazil and the United States of America. I congratulate the management on its innovative approach and commitment to increasing both its capability and its capacity to allow it to build on a solid reputation for quality products.
“The company’s recent involvement with Invest NI’s Business Improvement Service is further demonstration of its desire for continuous improvement. The benefits of this relationship will further strengthen the business and enable it to succeed in today’s increasingly competitive marketplace.”
Roy Kelly, Managing Director of Creative Composites said: “This investment reflects our belief in the future of Creative Composites and in its ability to become a leading player in the plastics industry. We believe that there are opportunities to increase sales in our existing markets and to enter new markets both at home and overseas.
“A number of industry sectors are seeking to use more plastic composite products and we intend to position ourselves to service these sectors by exploiting our core strengths of good design and cost effective production.”
Creative Composites manufactures glass reinforced plastic products for a range of industries including defence, vending, public service vehicles and materials handling vehicles.
