Father Remanded Over Cameron Death
A 24-year-old man has appeared in court today in relation to the murder of his baby son.
Fourteen-week-old Cameron Leslie, from the New Mossley area of Newtownabbey, was taken to the Antrim Area Hospital on Thursday with a number of injuries. He was transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children on Friday afternoon, where he died from his injuries the following evening.
Ryan Leslie, 24, appeared before Belfast Magistrates today. He spoke only to confirm that he understood the charges brought against him.
A detective inspector, who claimed he could connect Leslie to the charge, confirmed the accused had cooperated with police and provided an account during interviews.
The detective also told the defence solicitor that the accused had maintained his innocence at all times.
Ryan Leslie has been remanded in custody for one week, to appear again via video-link.

Foster Funds Renewable Energy Plant
A wood-fired, combined heat and power plant which has the potential to generate electricity and provide heating to several of North Down's public buildings has just received a boost. NI Enterprise Minister, Arlene Foster has announced funding totalling £1.088 million, to enable North Down Borough Council to build the renewable energy facility.

Police launch murder inquiry in Moneymore
Police are appealing for information after a man was found dead in Co Londonderry. The 37-year-old man, who is of Asian origin, is believed to have been attacked at Rockview Park in Moneymore on Sunday. The man succumbed to severe head injuries on Tuesday. Two men have already appeared in court on Tuesday in connection with the incident.

Extradited man denies murder
A 43-year-old Chinese man who was extradited from Hong Kong in connection with the death of a Chinese woman has denied murder. Wong Sui Ching appeared today at Belfast Magistrate’s Court charged with the murder of 29-year-old part-time waitress Ho Mi Ye. She had been found strangled at her home in Isoline Street in east Belfast in June 1998.

Republicans warned about UVF list
More than 100 republicans have been warned about their safety after police seized documents linked to the UVF which contained names, addresses and car registrations. Darren Richardson, 30, of Moneynick Road, Randalstown, County Antrim appeared today at Belfast Crown Court charged with UVF membership.

Two remanded on attempted murder charges
Two men have appeared today in court charged with the attempted murder of a boy under the age of 14 in County Antrim. Both men who are in their 30s with addresses in Londonderry have been remanded in custody.
