Belfast Aerospace Death Probed

A probe has been launched at the Bombardier complex in east Belfast after a man was killed this afternoon in a traffic accident at the extensive production facility.

The fatal accident happened at the aerospace company's Queen's Island plant on Wednesday afternoon.

The NI Health and Safety Executive has begun an investigation but there are no further details at the moment.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, who was on a one-day high-profile visit to Northern Ireland, toured the aerospace firm.

He was shown around Bombardier with First Minister Peter Robinson who is also the DUP MP and MLA for the East Belfast constituency.
