Petrol Bomb Family Escape Injury

A Co Antrim family has escaped injury in a weekend petrol bomb attack.

The mother, father and adult son - all members of the same family were in the house when the device was thrown through an upstairs window of the house at Kilmakevit Road in Cullybackey.

The petrol bomb started a small fire but the occupants managed to extinguish it.

No one was injured in the attack which occurred shortly before 2am on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, also in Co Antrim, shots have been fired during a fight in the small village of Toomebridge.

No one was injured when the shots were fired at Crosskeys Road at about 3.45am on Sunday.

The weapon was a legally-held shotgun and the police said that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police investigating the shooting confirmed that a vehicle on the Crosskeys Road had been damaged by shotgun pellets.

House targeted in suspected petrol bomb attack
Police in Co Down are appealing for information following a suspected petrol bomb attack at a house in Saintfield. The incident occurred at a property on the Listooder Road at around 12.45am on Monday. Scorch damage was caused to the front door of the house and a door mat was also destroyed by the fire.
