Clare TD Welcomes Jobs News
Clare TD Tony Killeen has welcomed the creation of 11 new jobs at an Ennis-based software development and services company.
Async Technologies has announced it will invest €2.4 million with support from the government through Enterprise Ireland and the AIBSCF.
The company, which is located in the Information Age Park, produces a tyre management technology solution, 'Tyre-Check' that extends tyre life by up to 30%.
Mr Killeen said: "This investment will enhance the company’s Research and Development and international sales capabilities. Async's products are currently being used by tyre manufacturers, tyre dealers and transport fleets in seventeen different countries, which is a testament to the company's ability and vision to expand its operations."
He added that Async Technologies was a prime example of the ability of innovative Irish firms to develop market-leading technologies for sale internationally.
Meanwhile, Mr Killeen has lauded the announcement by University of Limerick-based company Avvio that it is to create 30 new high skilled roles in the company over the next two years.
As part of their strategy to increase international sales, Avvio will also invest over €1.6m in Research and Development and innovation.
Avvio, based at the National Technological Park in Limerick, is a leading provider of reservations software and online marketing for the hospitality industry, and is on track to quadruple its revenue by 2010, to over €6m.
"Like Async Technologies, Avvio continue to expand their operations on a worldwide scale which is indicative of the entrepreneurial spirit that exists among companies in the Mid West Region," said the TD.
Avvio is the leading provider of online reservation and marketing software for hotels and serviced accommodation providers, working with over 700 hotel clients worldwide.
