Police Target Crime
Three people have been arrested and a suspected firearm seized in a 'targeted' PSNI operation.
The two men and one women were taken into custody following a search in the Antrim area yesterday.
The arrests were said by police to be "part of the PSNI's ongoing operation against organised crime" and the three are being questioned at the Antrim Serious Crime Suite.
Meanwhile, in other unrelated police action, antiques worth several hundred thousand pounds have been seized in Downpatrick, Co Down, police have said.
The seizure followed a planned search of a house in the Saul Road area on Wednesday morning.
A 61-year-old man was arrested and is being questioned in relation to the find.
The previous day, a haul of counterfeit clothing worth more than £75,000 was recovered by police in north Belfast.
They were discovered during a search of premises in Dargan Crescent on Tuesday afternoon.
The clothes and other items were taken away for forensic examination and a spokesperson said no arrests were made during the operation.

Drugs seized in police raids
Four men have been arrested following police raids in Belfast. The men were detained in north Belfast, Newtownabbey and Carrickfergus, County Antrim. All are believed to be in their 30’s and detectives have said they were arrested as part of a pro-active operation against the illegal drugs trade.

Man Charged With Murder Of Pauline Carmichael
Police investigating the death of Pauline Carmichael have charged a 37-year-old man with her murder. Ms Carmichael's body was found on the shore of Lough Neagh on Wednesday. A search operation was launched following the 61-year-old's disappearance two days earlier, on Monday. Police had arrested two men in connection with her disappearance.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Two Women To Be Deported Following Brothel Bust
Two women have been remanded in custody and are due to be deported to Sweden following a number of properties, believed to be brothels, were searched in greater Belfast. Ancuta Schwarz, 27, and Aura Gabriela Anghel, 20, appeared at Belfast Crown Court today after being arrested on Thursday. Both women deny the charges.
