Sister Tells Of Anguish Over Blind Men's Robbery
The sister of two blind brothers injured by robbers during an aggravated burglary at their home in Co Antrim has been speaking about the experience of finding the shocked pair last night.
Vera Campbell, from Abbeyglen Crescent close to scene of the incident, broke down as she described the ordeal that her two brothers had endured at the hands of their attackers.
Speaking on UTV this afternoon, she said they were shocked and very shaken by the experience, and - breaking down in tears - said that it had been terribly upsetting to see the trauma endured by her blind brothers.
The Whiteabbey victims, George Sloan, 38, and his brother Stephen, 42, were targeted last night when two men in their 20s forced their way into the house at Glenville Parade, off Glenville Road, Shore Road, Newtownabbey, shortly after 7.30pm.
George suffered a broken arm as a result of the attack and Stephen sustained bruising to his head and body.
The burglars ransacked the property, before escaping with a sum of cash.
Police said the brothers, who are being treated in hospital, were "extremely shaken" by their ordeal.

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.

On average, one person loses their life on Northern Ireland's roads every week, with 57 fatalities recorded so far this year.
