ETA Member To Fight Extradition
A convicted member of the Basque Separatist group ETA is to fight extradition proceedings for his return to Spain.
Inaki de Juana Chaos, who was believed to have been living at a Dublin address after his recent release from a Spanish prison, surrendered for arrest in Belfast where he is facing extradition to Spain to face terrorist related charges.
De Juana Chaos is understood to have moved to a west Belfast address when the Spanish Authorities issued a European Arrest Warrant to the PSNI for his arrest.
The ETA member is wanted for allegedly writing a letter encouraging the continuation of the armed struggle for an independent Basque state, which is a criminal offence in Spain.
Extradition proceedings against Inaki de Juana Chaos were launched before the Recorder's Court in Belfast, where he is expected to fight attempts to extradite him.
