Toxic Cargo Sought
As much as 2,000 litres of toxic acid have been stolen from a trailer in Co Down. It was known to have containing at least 1,500 litres of the solution, but could have been filled with a maximum of 2,000 litres. The acid was stolen along with a tractor from the Tandragee Road in Jerretspass on Tuesday night. The police said the hypochlorite acid is used as an antibacterial treatment for water and is a light green liquid and said that it can be very toxic and will burn the skin and eyes.
Creggan Blast Probed
There's an investigation underway this week as police follow up reports of a small explosion near a house in the Creggan area of Londonderry on Monday night. A number of shots were also fired at a vehicle during the incident, which happened near Circular Road at about midnight. The police said there are no reports of any injuries but that a number of items have been taken away for examination as part of the probe.
Equine Road Deaths Tragedy
Two horses have been killed after they were involved in a collision with a lorry in Templepatrick, Co Antrim. The accident happened on the Old Coach Road at about 6am on Wednesday. A police spokeswoman said four 'loose horses' were involved in the crash. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Two Arrested After 'Suspicious Activity'
Two men have been arrested by police following reports of suspicious activity in the North Circular Road area of Belfast. Police attended the scene and arrested two males on suspicion of burglary and possession of class A and B drugs. No further information is available.
