Vion To Cut 820 Jobs
A Dutch-owned food group is cutting 820 jobs.
Of the jobs going, at Vion, 470 will be lost at its Haverhill site in Suffolk, 200 at Malton in North Yorkshire and 150 at Cambuslang in Scotland.
The Scottish jobs are a result of the loss of some of its business supplying deli products and ready meals to Marks and Spencer.
The remaining jobs are due to the restructuring of its abattoir and cooked meats businesses.

Offshore Company Axes Jobs
Around 150 jobs in Aberdeen and Dundee have been axed after an offshore services company ceased trading. Oceanteam Power and Umbilical has been forced to close when the firm's holding company withdrew its financial support. Staff are based in Aberdeen, at workshops in Dundee and offshore.
